Helping a Cat

I work as a delivery driver and the other day I went to a house and there was a cat outside in the cold. It looked like it wasn't taken care of very well and one of its eyes were injured and I'm sure it couldn't see out of it. It was red and white but there was no pupil or anything. I asked the guy if it was ok and he just said "he got messed up a few months ago". Makes me upset everytime I think about that cat, is there anything I can do? I don't want to call the pound or anything they would probably just put it down. I can't take it in either we already have 4 cats and I recently took in 1 stray.

I would look for "no-kill" shelters or rescues in your area and call them and see what their protocol is for a situation like this. If the man is obviously not taking care of the cat, they can possibly come "seize" the kitty and take it to get the medical care it needs, and then place it in the rescue as a resident or adopt it out to a loving family.

Depending on the "owner's" temperment, you could also talk to him and see if he would let you take the kitty. If so, then you can take it to one of the rescues and let them take care of it. Be sure to call the rescues first and make sure they have room to take in a new resident.

If you'd like, you can message me your location and I would be more than glad to help you find "no-kill" shelters in your area Smile

Thank you for looking out for this kitty and your awesome kind heart!
